Snohomish County Human Services Invites You to Help Shape Our Community’s Future

EVERETT, Wash. — Your voice matters. Snohomish County Human Services is inviting Snohomish County residents to participate in a Community Needs Assessment designed to better understand the needs of the residents experiencing poverty or poverty related issues in Snohomish County.

A short survey is an important first step in the assessment process. It provides community members with an opportunity to highlight what is working and to share challenges or barriers. Responses will directly shape future county services and programs.

Information about the assessment and opportunities to complete the survey is available on the Community Needs Assessment webpage.

Snohomish County encourages community members to complete the short survey and share it with others who may have experiences or perspectives that should be represented in the assessment. Broad participation will help ensure the findings reflect the range of experiences within Snohomish County’s community.

About the Community Needs Assessment

Community members are the experts on their own lives. By sharing your unique experiences, you help Snohomish County better understand the experiences and priorities of the people and communities it serves. These types of assessments help identify urgent, unmet local needs and emerging priorities. Snohomish County Human Services is partnering with LISC Puget Sound (Local Initiatives Support Corporation) to conduct the Community Needs Assessment. LISC brings experience in community-centered research and engagement and will work alongside Snohomish County throughout the assessment process to gather, analyze and elevate community perspectives.

Following the survey period, Snohomish County Human Services and LISC Puget Sound will analyze the responses to identify key themes, priorities and areas that would benefit from deeper discussion.

The survey findings will then help inform community focus groups, where participants will have an opportunity to expand on the issues identified through the survey, provide additional context and discuss their experiences in greater depth.

Information gathered through both the survey and focus groups will contribute to the Community Needs Assessment, providing Snohomish County Human Services with community-informed data to better understand current needs and help guide future planning.
