Westchester County Human Rights Commission Shares Important Anti-Discrimination and Immigration-Related Resources to Protect Community Members

Published:

In response to growing community concerns regarding U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)-related interactions, the Westchester County Human Rights Commission is offering a comprehensive set of general resources and best practices for individuals to familiarize themselves with and utilize should they encounter ICE in a variety of situations.

Westchester County Human Rights Commission Executive Director Tejash Sanchala said: “Anti-immigrant discrimination is not tolerated in our County. The Westchester County Human Rights Commission protects individuals’ right to be free from prohibited discrimination in key areas of life, including housing, employment, public accommodations and credit lending regardless of their citizenship status. The Commission also provides referrals to individuals with other immigration-related concerns outside our purview, such as asylum, deportation and individuals’ rights when interacting with ICE.”
